Guidelines for Authors and Collaboration Applications

1. Introduction

Advance.hr is open to working with authors who can contribute high-quality, original, and analytically grounded articles in the fields of foreign policy, geopolitics, economics, culture, science, and social issues. This document explains the application process and the basic editorial expectations.

2. Open Positions

Specific open positions are posted on the “Jobs” page when they become available. If there are currently no active job openings, you are still invited to send an application if you believe you can contribute to the work of the portal.

3. Applications from Authors and Contributors

Authors may apply for:

• full-time employment
• article-based collaboration under an authorship contract

The application should clearly state the type of engagement you are interested in.

4. What to Send in Your Application

For your application to be considered, we recommend including the following:

• one original article with a minimum length of four standard manuscript pages
• or a link to previously published work
• a short introduction and your area of interest
• the language in which you write; we prefer Croatian, but we also accept work in foreign languages

We are looking for authors who can offer original insights, clearly structured writing, and the ability to address complex topics.

5. Editorial Expectations

Authors who collaborate with the portal should:

• write clearly, accurately, and with well-supported arguments
• base their claims on credible sources
• follow the portal’s Editorial Policy and Code of Ethics
• accept the possibility of editorial editing of their text

We value expertise, independent research, and the ability to approach topics within a broader context.

6. Languages and Writing Style

Applications may be submitted in Croatian or in a foreign language, but the editorial team currently prefers work written in Croatian. The writing style should be clear, professional, and analytical, without sensationalism or oversimplification of complex topics.

7. Application Review and Future Opportunities

If we are not currently opening new positions, your application may still be stored as a reference for future editorial needs. When the need for new contributors arises, we will contact candidates whose work matches the editorial profile of the portal.

8. What We Do Not Publish

Advance.hr does not publish:

• PR content, marketing posts, or sponsored articles
• press releases
• articles by readers who are not part of the author team

Users may participate in discussions through the forum, subject to administrator approval, but such content is not published as journalistic articles.
