Code of Ethics

The Advance.hr Code of Ethics defines the professional standards, responsibilities, and principles of conduct for authors and the editorial team at every stage of journalistic work.

1. Basic Principles

The Advance.hr Code of Ethics is based on professional responsibility toward readers, the public, and the truth. Our goal is to produce content that is credible, accurate, clearly interpreted, and free from bias. Ethical principles apply to all authors, editors, and contributors involved in the preparation and publication of content on the portal.

2. Accuracy and Verifiability

We publish only information that has been confirmed by relevant sources and whose origin has been clearly established. Data must be verifiable through reliable documents, expert analyses, statements from competent institutions, or other valid sources. Authors and editors are required to carefully verify facts before publication and to avoid speculation and unverified claims.

3. Independence and Integrity

Authors and editors operate fully independently of political actors, state institutions, private corporations, and interest groups. Content must not be influenced by personal interests, relationships, or pressures. Conflicts of interest must be avoided, and if circumstances exist that could affect objectivity, they must be clearly disclosed to the editorial team.

4. Treatment of Sources

We treat journalistic sources responsibly and professionally. If a source requests protection of their identity, the editorial team reserves the right to grant anonymity when this is in the public interest and when the information cannot be obtained in any other way. Authors are required to provide the context, relevance, and limitations of statements and data. Manipulating statements or presenting information outside its intended meaning is strictly prohibited.

5. Respect for Privacy

Advance.hr respects the right to privacy of individuals. We publish only information that is in the public interest and avoid the sensationalist presentation of details that have no relevant value for understanding an event or topic. In sensitive matters, including private tragedies, we act with the greatest possible care and consideration.

6. Prohibition of Discrimination

In our articles, we do not tolerate hate speech, stereotypes, or any form of discrimination based on race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability. We promote an approach that encourages understanding, tolerance, and social responsibility. A critical approach to topics must always be separated from the personal or identity characteristics of individuals and communities.

7. Editorial Responsibility

The editorial team is responsible for reviewing, editing, and granting final approval of content before publication. It is the duty of the editorial team to ensure that every article meets professional standards, complies with this Code of Ethics, and avoids manipulative or harmful elements. In cases of doubt regarding the ethical nature of content, the principle of caution and additional internal review applies.

8. Revisions and Corrections

When an error is identified, whether factual or interpretative, it is corrected in accordance with our Corrections Policy. The ethical imperative requires that corrections be made transparently, without delay, and in a way that clearly shows readers what has been changed. Authors and editors are required to participate in the review of all reported inaccuracies.

9. Professional Conduct

Authors and editors of Advance.hr are required to maintain professional relationships with colleagues, readers, and sources. Communication must be respectful, clear, and constructive, and all actions must be in line with high standards of journalistic ethics. Any misuse of position, information, or access is considered a serious breach of professional obligations.

10. The Role of Readers

Readers have the right to expect responsible, independent, and professionally prepared journalism. Their feedback is an important part of our ethical framework. We encourage readers to inform us of any inaccuracies, irregularities, or comments so that we can continuously improve our work and maintain high standards of transparency.
